British
Horse Society helps to launch Welsh Equine Council
|
In
response to discussions held in the Principality, The British Horse
Society in Wales (BHS Cymru) has helped to launch the Welsh Equine
Council (Cyngor Ceffylau Cymraeg) and to provide the initial secretariat;
funding support for development of this Council has been received
from the Wales Tourist Board.
The
Council has been established to encompass all equine organisations
within Wales. It will enable members to join together and speak
with one voice on issues relating to equestrianism, particularly
when there is a need to lobby the Welsh Assembly or campaign specifically
within the Principality with funding organisations such as the Sports
Council for Wales.
The first meeting of the council will be held early in the New Year.
