Happy event at San Patrignano stud

Happy event at San Patrignano stud: on saturday 8th February 2003 the second Weihaiwej's foal has born. The foal's father is Voltaire, one of the most important Hannover sires whose sons are, among the others, internationals winners like Concorde, Flyer, Kannan, Helios, etc.

"The foal, born by an embryo transfer, does not have a name. Indeed, we haven't been able yet to find an appropriate name made of a Chinese word beginning with "V", the letter which will mark all the newborn foals in 2003." Giacomo Muccioli, responsible of the San Patrignano's breeding farm, says. "However, the most important thing, which makes all of us very happy, is to see how Weihaiwej is able to transmit her genetic characteristics since the foal is resembling very much her mother."

Weihaiwej, an 1984 Oldenburg, is worldwide renowned for her "blue eyes" and for her successful sporting career. She succeeded in all the most important international competitions, winning also two gold medals at the '94 World Championship in Hague, ridden to success by the German champion Franke Sloothak.
